Bubbles, Bubbles

Bubbles, Bubbles by Kathi Appelt. Pictures by Fumi Kosaka

Bubbles, Bubbles is a fun night time story about a little girl’s fun in a bubble bath just before bed. This picture book is great for kids aged preschool and younger. The book is twenty pages long, with vivid graphics. There is writing in large font on every other page, which gives the child a chance to learn through visuals when looking through this book. The story is told in rhyme, with a lot of alliteration.  The story is set on a yellow backdrop, and the images are close-ups of the child’s face and her rubber ducky and rubber frog as she plays in the bathtub, giving herself bubble hairdos and bubble mustaches. This story is a great bedtime read for children because it takes place in the evening just before the main character goes to bed. This book teaches children body parts, such as shoulders, elbows, nose and toes. It teaches children the fun and value of cleanliness.
