A plane goes ka-zoom!This colorful story teaches children about all the different uses of an airplane. Using simply rhyming texts, children learn about the sounds of and different uses of an airplane, as well as the different types of planes flying overhead.

This picture book is a great one for a storytime, because it lends itself well to a variety of applications. It can be used for a plane storytime, transportation storytime, and careers storytime. Each sentence is about five to six words, which makes this a quick read. Its colorful enough for a baby storytime, but educational and complex enough for a toddler and family storytime.

Other great selections for a transportation storytime are:

1. Choo Choo Clickety Clack by Margaret Mayo

Choo choo clickety-clack! Rhythmic sounds imitate trains, planes, and other busy transports that come and go.

2. Pigeon Loves Things That Go by Mo Willems
