I Can Be Anything b Jerry Spinelli Age: All ages Format: Picture Book Find this book at your local library
When laying out in the meadow one day, a young boy dreams up all of the things that he can be. Should he be a paper-plane folder, a puddle jumper or a baby-sis soother?
Those are just a few of the short and simple descriptors of what makes up a toddler/preschooler. The illustrations that go along with each phrase are detailed in bright, full-page colors. There is so much to look at in each illustrations, but it also accurately sums up the job at the first glance. I’ve read this for my baby and preschool storytime, and it’s always been a big hit with both kids and parents. I like to preface this book by telling the kids that they can do and be anything that they want, the choice and the world is theirs to explore and with which to experiment.
